If you’re as much of a computer geek as I am, you probably have a bunch of old printers, scanners and zip drives laying around your house. The other day I pulled out a really old scanner and wanted to run it just for kicks, but realized that it only had a serial port and no USB. Now my current laptop only has USB ports and no serial ports, so using the scanner was going to be a challenge. After some looking around, I came across usb to serial cables. I was overjoyed, here is the answer to my problem! These cables allow you to connect serial devices to USB ports and vis versa, thus allowing you to use your old legacy devices! Even though using such an old scanner is not practical, it is still nice to know I am able to use all of my electronics once again.
